Anemia occurs when disruptions in the body’s oxygen transport system lead to a decrease in red blood cell levels, resulting in reduced oxygenation. Hyperbaric Therapy (HBOT) addresses this issue by saturating the body with oxygen, restoring oxygen levels in the tissues to normal levels. In severe cases of oxygen depletion, HBOT can bring the body back to a safe zone, enabling treatment of underlying causes.
HBOT is FDA-approved for treating severe anemia and is considered a primary treatment option for sickle cell anemia.
