Cupping

Dating back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures, cupping is a recovery tool generally utilizing either glass or silicone cups. Cupping therapy is used to create local decompression by creating a negative pressure (provided by the suction) to loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, sedate the nervous system and promote cell repair. It can also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue. People receive treatment for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep tissue massage.
